Ø       A residential and commercial building contractor in Petaluma, CA, with gross receipts of $500K.  Full charge bookkeeping including payroll, payroll tax returns, and year-end general ledger reporting; completed conversation to S Corporation which involved splitting the books half-way through tax year.  (2004 to Present.)

Ø       A local start-up company which provides adventure travel packages, with first-year receipts of approximately $50K.  Converted books upon formation of LLC partnership.  (2005 to 2008.)

Ø       An immigration attorney in St. Louis, MO with gross receipts of approx. $80K.  Complete bookkeeping and year-end general ledger reporting.  (2000 to Present.)

Ø      A diesel truck repair company in Kansas City, Kansas, with gross receipts of $1.78 million.  Converted from QuickBooks to Peachtree which involves cleaning up books from years of compounded errors and incorrect balance sheet accounts; corrected payroll records, filed amended payroll tax returns; recorded fixed assets and reconciled inventory.  (2003 to 2004.)

Ø       A painting contractor in Johnson County, Kansas, with gross receipts of $526K.   Includes accounting for several rental properties.  (2002 to 2004.)

Ø       An internet service provider/ telecommunications company in Prairie Village, Kansas, with gross receipts of approximately $358K, consisting of two companies with diverse business interests.  Involved converting from QuickBooks to Peachtree, cleaning up bookkeeping errors and separating the two companies’ books, correcting payroll records and implementing an accounts receivable system.  (From 1997 to 2003.)

1997 to Present - LeBook Business Services, initially in Overland Park, KS; relocated to Petaluma, CA in October 2003 - Offering services such as legal typing and transcription, desktop publishing, web design, writing, computer consulting and bookkeeping services.

1995 to 1997 - Computer Consultant:  Hallmark Cards, Inc., Kansas City, MO, as Help Desk Analyst; Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Merriam, KS, as Network

1994 to 1995 - Self-Employed consultant, Mill Valley, CA.  Legal typing and transcription, bookkeeping, computer consulting.

1991 to 1994 - Mata-Engelbert Associates, Sausalito, CA.  As Managing Partner of executive placement agency, performed all company bookkeeping and accounting using manual general ledger system.  Recruited and placed computer professionals.

1988 to 1991 - Park Inns International Worldwide Hotel Group, San Francisco, CA.  As Office Manager and Executive Assistant, assisted CFO with financial and bookkeeping matters, including accounts receivable/payable, banking, and franchisee fee reporting, as well as providing support to CEO and managing office.

1985 to 1988 – Freelance Legal Secretary – Worked for more than thirty law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area; provided legal assistance and bookkeeping services. 

1984 to 1985 - Jerry D. Tiedt & Co., Inc., Carlsbad, CA.  Assisted bookkeeping staff in this public accounting firm.  Performed manual bookkeeping for one small client, including account reconciliation, general journal, and financial statement preparation. 

1980 to 1984 - Hancock, Rothert & Bunshoft, San Francisco, CA.  As Legal Secretary, duties included preparing client billing utilizing TimeSlips software. 

1979 to 1980 - Oscar Padilla Insurance Co., San Diego, CA.   Maintained general ledger and assisted bookkeeper with related tasks.   Performed insurance agency commission calculations and handled banking transactions, along with basic secretarial duties.
